I read a news report at around 8 o/c this evening saying the Princess of
Wales had attended this event. Is it pre-recorded or was this just sloppy
reporting?

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists
or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies.

She was indeed at the Festival, held at The Royal Albert Hall on
Saturday. She will probably also be at the Service of Remembrance on
Sunday.

Indeed but the announcement was around 8 pm and the broadcast at 9 pm.

I was standing in the park wondering why Frisbees got bigger as they get
closer.
Then it hit me.

Haven't they always recorded in the afternoon?

"The Festival is a commemorative event dedicated to all those that have
served and sacrificed from Britain and the Commonwealth. This year’s
event will take place on Saturday 9 November 2024 with performances at
2pm and 7pm."

I think it is partly because of the many elderly veterans taking part,
many of whom do not live in Central London so it makes it easier for
them getting home.

And to allow for editing if there are any unexpected delays during the
performance?

Radio 2 offered highlights at 8pm; BBC1 showed bits at 9pm. Those times
both suggest the event happened earlier.

Many thanks for all the replies, it looks as if it is pre-recorded :-)

I did try Google but there was no hint anywhere.

Extracted from the much-maligned Telegraph website:
" Hannah Furness
09 November 2024 7:11pm GMT
The Princess of Wales has joined the Royal family at the Royal Albert
Hall to honour Britain’s Armed Forces, in her first major event since
finishing her chemotherapy.

The Princess, who is making a gradual return to the public eye after
serious illness this year, joined her husband the Prince of Wales and
the King for the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance on
Saturday evening.

Wearing a black dress with a clutch bag, high heels, pearl earrings,
her distinctive engagement ring and a poppy brooch, the Princess smiled
as she entered the Kensington venue with Prince William just before 7pm
on Saturday evening. "

As opposed to post-recorded no doubt.

Did the Royal family attend both?

I doubt it very much, they might have a token representation by a minor
Royal at the one the main Royals attend or split up so half go to one
the other half to the other one.

Surprised we have not usual moan about why the coverage of Remembrance
Sunday or Armistice Day was on more than one channel. There always
seems to be someone!

Why did BBC News have a camera(s) at Bedworth today? I wondered if they
just wanted a 'typical' village?
