It seems Rajini Vaidyanathan is a replacement for Laura Trevelyan, really
peculiar and incomprehensible cockney accent.

I can please only one person per day. Today is not your day.
Tomorrow, isn't looking good either.

I don't hear any Cockney accent from her and have no problem in
understanding her?

I was listening to a radio interview between an interviewer with a broad
Scottish accent and a person with a strong Northern Irish accent, I only
managed to understand about half of it. Very bizarre.

I worked in Shanghai back in 1988-1989, and when my interpreter was
away, her replacement and I actually got on better speaking German than
English.

Oh dear, that does not sound good. A lot of people who have to use English,
but are natives of other countries tend to listen to uk stations on the
internet to keep up to date with what stuff means. One regularly calls phone
ins from Japan, and her English is better than mine, so it can be done. I
guess some people have an ear for languages and accents. I'm useless at
languages.

I have an Israeli granddaughter with a Thames Valley accent.
She never lived here but her brother did.
They only spoke English at home.
