Discussion:
F1 recording on Humax Sat Box - series link lost over summer break
(too old to reply)

I can't recall this happening before.

I have been recording F1 from 4 on my Humax.
The first race after the summer break did not record (watched it using
catch up).
Checked, and series record was not set, so I set it again.

Is this a common (or even rare) thing?

Cheers

Hopefully rare, but it happened to my Humax also. And the Italian Grand
Prix recorded fine, short though the broadcasts were. Channel 4 must
have forgot to set the Series bit after the summer break.

There was also one instance of them changing the title from F1 to
Formula 1. This shouldn't matter if just recording on series link data
but may/will if the search was based on text as well.

It's not uncommon when there's a mid-series break. I wouldn't be
surprised to see quite a few Ch4 programmes series links broken by the
Paralympics break.

See also the thread I started a few weeks ago "Sky Mix serial record
error". For the next two weeks the series link was missing for Star Trek
TNG, but today I noticed that Sky have reinstated it.

I have been recording F1 on Ch.4 on my Humax since it started being
available, and I don't remember this ever happening before. I may be
wrong, and if I am proved to be, I will not argue.
But it is certainly not a common problem, I'm sure.
The Paralympics have altered the length of the F1 shoes, but that should
not affect the series link, and it was fine for Italy.

"...F1 shows...". Although 'shoes' has a certain ring to it!

Happened to me, too, on the EE STB.
And catch-up on the EE box is always poor quality video (so much so
that the "totem" at the left hand side is almost unreadable).

The app on the LG TV is much better.

I vaguely recall reading that if series link items become over 14
days old since last triggered, then even though they remain in
the list (with no forthcoming date) they cease to work.

I have no idea if this is on all machines, or is specified as
required performance..

Why does nobody ever say which f*cking model they have?
Humax have made many. "my Humax" conveys no useful information.

3 months on "my box" and then they are deleted.
