"UKTV Play is changing its name to U this summer".

Just thinking, someone has been paid lots of money to think of that
silly name!

I wonder how long it will last?

I’m surprised UTV aren’t objecting.

Even now I struggle with the mobile network "3". (Or sometimes "Three".)

To think that "Orange" sounded distinctly weird when it launched in the
1990s but we've gone well past that now.

I've come to terms with "eBay" but still don't use "X" for Twitter.

This page lists even stranger examples like su:m37° and SK-II

Years ago at work, we had dealings sometimes with 'Thus'. It was a very
awkward company name to refer to in anything you wrote.

I used to have an email address from Demon. I gave my address to my
audiologist who looked quizically at me. I said that there were people with
Virgin in their email addresses but it didn't mean that was their correct
appelation either. She laughed.

I had a demon address too back in the mid 90s. I did some IT setup
work for a catholic primary school and some of the staff were asking
me about getting internet at home. That dates it doesn't it? "Who
are you with?" they asked.

Their reaction surprised me and then some. I felt seriously unwelcome
from that moment on.

I recall a CofE clergyman who ws very proud of his Demon address.

I was their customer for a while, when they acquired Demon.

What do you mean silly name?

I am considering changing mine to "A" before someone nicks it.

I've changed my mind I am choosing "L".
Just think of the draw when anti-fans yell "Goto 'L'".
